SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Checklist

I’ve just got this nice SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Checklist from my fellow Warrior Forum member Doug. I thought Ishare it with my readers.

So, what is the biggest internet marketing method? The answer is simple, its search engine marketing, which is an EXTREMELY competitive area. I will now present to you a “mock” scenario that happens when new marketers enter the twisted jungle of search engine marketing. Some new marketers will give it a try for six months, and after they don’t receive those frontpage rankings that they so desperately hunt for, they flat out give up! My mission is to provide you with a concise “outline” of *ALL* the seo strategies out there, because it’ll be a crying shame if you don’t implement them.

SEO Keywords Checklist

Make sure that your website is optimized for targeted keywords that will make you money. If you’re selling a product, it’s typically a good idea to target a narrow keyword as oppose to a broad one.
Include your keywords in the h1, h2, and h3 tags of your xhtml document.
Make sure that your keywords appear at least once in the title tags of your documents.
Make sure that you have keywords in the Meta tags of your document. Yeah, Google doesn’t delegate much prominence to keywords in these tags, but other search engines DO, and it helps Google classifying the page.
Make sure that your targeted keywords appear within the first 500 words of your document. Make sure to utilize keyword density proportional text on your website’s content (1-3% is sufficient)

Is Link Building dead?

Ever found yourself building lots of links only to find it’s barely given you any benefit in your rankings?

When you understand Google you’ll understand why link building is tough… Think about it…

Google uses links as votes for a site. The more links the more votes.

If people manipulate the votes for their sites by building more links, Google’s results become tainted.

Therefore Google is on a mission to protect the user experience by discounting unnatural links.

Google’s webmaster guidelines even go as far to say that you should not participate in any link schemes that intend to ‘manipulate page rank’. In other words Google is against you building links that manipulate your position in the SERPs.

A/B TESTING – The method in marketing research to test the effectiveness of marketing strategies. A/B testing starts with a control or initial marketing scenario. The control scenario ‘A’ is usually defined through several aspects (e.g. cost, color, texture, shape, fonts, site layout, web copy etc). An alternative scenario ‘B’ is created by changing the defined aspects. Subsequently, the market response from ‘A’ will be compared to that of ‘B’.
