Why should you care to tap into 300+ millions Skype Users?

You see, Skype has been widely used as the tool to communicate with others via voice, text, or even videos. In addition, it allows Skype users to call landline for an affordable price. On top of that, many business owners are utilizing Skype as a way to communicate with their employees, partners, as well as customers.

The question is… “How do you utilize Skype to your advantage?

That’s exactly what you are going to learn with Skype Marketing 101.

As you are ready for this, let’s talk about the power of Skype Marketing 101 and how you can utilize it for your business, okay?

STEP #1: What is the main reasons you want to use Skype for your business?

Is it for business? or Is it for personal?

Of course, if you are reading this material, chances are, you want to utilize Skype to attract the right audience for your business. When you do, here is some other questions I want you to be aware of:

  1. What types of clients do you want to spend time with on Skype?
  2. How can you be productive when you are dealing with so many Skype users who can simply get in touch by just a click of a button?

I know in the surface, this seems to be an easy question to answer. In reality, if you don’t define or understand the type of clients you would like to have on your Skype contact, you will end up hate Skype marketing in the future.

Why is that?

Well, think about all the nightmare you are going to get if someone can press the “call” button in the middle of your work day or when you have a meeting with other clients.

Will that help you with your business? or

Will it make you feel the anger and frustration on having Skype for your business?

My point is… “You need to set a rule on who and how your customers should contact you

In other words, you have to be very straight forward with your audience. What time and date your audience should contact you? and When you will get back to them after the business hours?

STEP #2: Do you want to allow non-customers to contact you via Skype?

Seriously, this is something you have to consider. Why?

Well, your brain is your biggest commodities.

Do you want other people to call you or message you anytime they want to? (or)

Do you want everyone to take advantages of your knowledge that takes you a very long time to gain?

Of course, I leave this to you for sure. However, before you make a decision on whether you want to have a non-customer to add you on Skype. Here is an example that may help you to decide:

Let’s just say you have a child.

You spoil her every single day with chocolate, ice cream, steak, toys and much more. Basically, you give him everything that he wants.

One day, as the child becomes way to overweight, you decided to take away the toys and great foods. Instead, you just give him broccoli and Salad. What do you think his reaction will be?

Of course, he is going to be outrage. Some people called him a “spoil” kid for sure.

The truth is…

This applies to your audience too. If you give him or her everything without the need to pay for your services, you are teaching others how to take advantage of you. PERIOD.

STEP #3: Boundaries Settings on Each Person You Add  to Your Skype Contact.

Well, this doesn’t apply to your spouse or your children who will demand your time for sure. 🙂

However, with your clients, partners, and employees, you need to set a clear etiquettes on how you want to be contacted. The question is… “How do you deal with people who “try” to break the boundaries?

Answer: Tell that person your boundary as well as what you can do with the service they have paid for sure.

Let me give you an example on this….

Recently, there is a client who didn’t pay for an “unlimited” access to me via Skype. However, she added me for the purpose of convenience. Then, everyday, I would receive “unlimited” amount of messages from her including nights and weekend.

As I realize that I was being taken for granted, I limit my answer from every five minutes to every 2 hours. Then, I limit it again from every 2 hours to once a day and during business hours.

When she tried to push my boundaries by asking me to set-up her website, I gave her the price on the “installation” fee in which other clients are more than willing to pay for it. However, she didn’t want to pay for it as she couldn’t afford it, but keep pushing me to help her to install it for her.

What I did in this case is… “I am firm in what I can do and what I can’t do for her“.  Of course, this is only one of the classic examples you are going to face if you don’t set the boundaries with your audience for sure. 🙂

STEP #4: Always Direct People to Your Skype Chat Group For Conversation, Especially For Non High-Ticket Clients.

Once you understand the etiquette you need to impose to Skype users, your next step is to always redirect a private conversation to your Skype chat group. Why is this important?

You see, there are a lot of people who feel that their questions are very unique or required privacy. Here are “two” options you can give them:

  • Put them in your Skype chat group where you can answer their questions live inside the group. — This is a very powerful tool as every single time someone asks questions on the chat group, where you answer it for them, it will establish yourself as an authority figure in your niche.
  • Ask Skype user to apply for your one-on-one session. — Remember, your time is your precious commodity. If the potential customers are very serious on solving their problems. They will more than likely to apply to speak with you on the phone. This is what we refer to as… “Micro Commitment” in which it will help you to have a higher sales conversion on your program or services you offer.

STEP #5: If You Hear The Sentence Such As: “Who are you?”, Give Them a Link to Your Free Video or E-Book.

As you understand the power of setting boundaries, here are the steps you need to take when someone have no clue who you are or may not be interested in what you do.

Answer: Give them a link to your free video or free e-book.

You see, when people have no clue who you are and what you are capable of, direct them to your free gift first. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time talking them down on your product offer. In fact, here is the formula you need to follow:

Stranger –> Subscriber –> Loyal Reader –> Customer –> High-Ticket client

In other words, you need to warm up the stranger first. This allows them to get to know you. You can call the “formula” a benchmark for each stage. This allows you to spend your time effectively.

As you understand these five steps in your marketing, it is time for you to open your Skype account at http://Skype.com. Just remember, With Skype marketing, you always have to find a way to protect your time at all cost. This allows you to enjoy the benefit of marketing your business with Skype for sure.
