Disaster Fact #1: Entering the Snapchat world just because everyone is utilizing Snapchat. — It is similar with trying to get a diamond in the desert which is a waste of time. Worse, if you are not careful, you will receive a lot of slash back in which it will ruin your chances to build the “right” audience for your business.

Disaster Fact #2: Not doing enough research. — Who is your target market? Are they freebie seekers or potential buyers? What is your method on providing solutions? You MUST have these benchmarks before you enter the Snapchat world.

Disaster Fact #3: Target everyone who speaks English or your languages. — Assumption is a disaster strategy to build a successful business with Snapchat. If you want to build your business, you can’t just assume everyone needs to lose weight, make money, and have a low self-esteem. It is similar with doing cold calling. Does cold calling work? Absolutely not.

Disaster Fact #4: Focus on following everyone on Snapchat. — This is a big mistake. Why? It is because NOT everyone will be interested in what you have to say. My point is you have to be picky on the type of audience you would like to attract in your business.

Remember: Like attracts like. If you want to build potential clients, you need to “filter” out freebie seekers for your business.

Disaster Fact #5: Focus on Selling To Your Audience, Instead of Educating them. — Why is this considered a bad idea? Remember, every time you sell to your audience, people will stay away from you. On the other hand, every time you educate your audience, you will attract relationship with your audience. My point is… Balance between selling your audience and educating your audience on each post.

Disaster Fact #6: Creating Your Stories on Snapchat Just As a Way to Add Contents. — Quality posts outsmart quantities. Some people will tell you that you just need to put something out on a daily basis. Though it may be true to certain extent. In reality, you MUST improve each story that you release overtime. This allows your audience to see the constant “improvement” you are building in your business. In return, it allows you to grow your followers with Snapchat.

Disaster Fact #7: Avoid Understanding Posts That Attract The Most Traffic. — As I’ve mentioned on Mistake #6, it is vitally important for you to create high-quality stories at all time. However, every time you release a new story, it is important to see the “structure” of the posts that give you the most traffic. This allows you to narrow down on what you need to do to publish the right type of “stories”  on your Snapchat account.
