<p>Just look at the mega-giant YouTube. Every day thousands and thousands of videos get uploaded.</p>
<p>Or look at Netflix- millions of people stream movies and television shows from them every single day.</p>
<p>Video is huge, it keeps growing, and it’s here to stay. That’s why you need to jump on it NOW.</p>
<p>How do you do that? First let’s talk about finding a niche.</p>
<h1>Finding Your Niche</h1>
<p>Let’s face it- this is covered in just about every internet marketing course out there, so I won’t go too far in depth here.</p>
<p>Basically, you have 3 options to choose from:</p>
<p>1)    A niche that you personally know and love</p>
<p>2)    A huge evergreen market (health, wealth, relationships)</p>
<p>3)    A small niche that you can dominate</p>
<p><span id="more-3085"></span>Each has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, you’ll have a lot more fun promoting products within a niche that you love. If you love World of Warcraft (like I do…), you can probably make great videos about it all day long and not get bored.</p>
<p>On the other hand, WoW will eventually die off. Meanwhile, a huge market like weight loss will NEVER go away. In fact, it gets bigger every day!</p>
<p>A small niche that you can dominate might be something like helping college girls lose water weight within 2 weeks for spring break or something.</p>
<p>Just make sure that whatever market or niche you get into that people are spending lots of money!</p>
<p>Here are just a few examples to consider-</p>
<ul>
<li>Investing</li>
<li>Weight loss</li>
<li>Embarrassing illnesses (gout, Chlamydia, etc.)</li>
<li>How to pick up women/guys</li>
<li>How to repair a marriage</li>
<li>Build muscle</li>
<li>Massive Multiplayer Online Games (World of Warcraft, Rift, Star Wars The Old Republic)</li>
<li>Computer repair</li>
<li>Make money online</li>
</ul>
<p>Again, all of these can even get broken down. For example the make money online market can be broken into affiliate marketing, video marketing, product creation, list building- all kinds of stuff!</p>
<p><strong>**HINT** I personally think that the best niche for video is computer games. Millions of gamers log onto YouTube every day for tips, tricks, strategies, and walkthroughs for popular games.</strong></p>
<p>And since the computer game industry is worth billions of dollars, it’s a HUGE market that isn’t going away anytime soon.</p>
<p>Once you’ve chosen a niche, it’s time to do research into people’s problems within that niche.</p>
<h2>Niche Research</h2>
<p>How do you find out the problems that your potential clients have? Hang out where they hang out. Read what they read. Watch what they watch.</p>
<p>For example, you can go to related forums. This is where they not only hang out for fun, but also help each other out.</p>
<p>Go to related YouTube channels. See what your competition is doing.</p>
<p>Look for related Facebook groups.</p>
<p>Check out blogs that are devoted to the subject. You’d be surprised at how many niche blogs are out there!</p>
<p>For an example, let’s say that you’ve chosen the Rift niche. This is a huge computer game that has over a million players.</p>
<p>First, check out the game’s main website. Do this by going to Google and search for “Rift game”. Look around, figure out the main idea of the game, and just learn.</p>
<p>Now, go to YouTube. Use the search function to look for something like “Rift game strategies”, or “Rift game tips”. These will bring up videos to watch and help you understand the game even better.</p>
<p>To find forums, go into Google and search for “Rift forums”. You’ll find a few that you can check out to learn more about the game. People will be asking each other questions and providing answers based on their own experiences.</p>
<p>Look on Facebook for a Rift group (or several). Join any of the ones that you find- chances are they’ll have regular updates, screenshots, and more about the game.</p>
<p><strong>Do you see what you’re doing?</strong></p>
<p>You want to think how your potential clients think! You should be asking yourself the same kinds of questions, and then finding the answers on YouTube and forums.</p>
<p>Without knowing the problems that people have, how can you expect to help solve those problems for them?</p>
<p>Once you’ve learned a lot about your market- including the problems they have and how to solve them (aka the product you’re promoting), it’s time to find some good keywords.</p>
<h2>Keyword Research</h2>
<p>The good news about keyword research is that if you’ve already done niche research, you’re almost done!</p>
<p>What you’ll find is that a lot of the keywords people are typing into Google and YouTube are about helping them with their problems.</p>
<p>For example, let’s talk more about the Rift computer game. In that game, one of the character classes is called a Mage. You would have learned about this (as well as other game terminology) when you started your niche research.</p>
<p>If you go into the Google Keyword tool and enter “Rift mage”, a lot of relevant results will come up:</p>
<p>As you can see, a lot of them pertain to tips, PVP tips, and builds. These are going to be good keywords to target, so they will ultimately be the titles of your videos.</p>
<p>They also give you a good idea on what to make your videos about. You can make one video on Mage PVP builds, another on Mage PVE builds, etc.</p>
<p>These keywords that people search for will also be the tags you use for your video. Tags help YouTube identify what the video is about, so you want lots of relevant tags in there.</p>
<p>Besides just video titles, these keywords will also be used to help you determine article titles. When you start submitting articles to sites like ArticlesBase, Scribd and Squidoo, the better your keywords, the more targeted traffic you’ll get.</p>
<p>Once you’ve got your keywords, let’s go set up your website.</p>
<h2>Setting Up Your Website</h2>
<p>How you set up your website depends on what you’re trying to do.</p>
<p>Are you promoting a product as an affiliate? If so, buy your own domain, put it on your own hosting account, and then build a squeeze page to build a list.</p>
<p>Are you trying to promote your own product? If so then your video is going to ultimately point to either your sales page or a squeeze page.</p>
<p>Are you just trying to brand yourself? Maybe you’ll just set up a blog, and have your videos point readers to your blog.</p>
<p>Whatever you’re trying to do<strong>, I HIGHLY recommend</strong> not using free websites like Weebly.com or Blogger.com. Instead, purchase a domain and put it on a hosting account like HostGator or BlueHost.</p>
<p>Then, install WordPress, the blogging platform. WordPress is EXTREMELY flexible and easy to use, and you can do just about anything with it! Squeeze pages, sales pages, blogs- and everything in between.</p>
<p>The reason I recommend doing this over using free websites is simple- <strong>you have control. </strong>If you build up your business on a free service like Blogger, they can shut down your entire business anytime they feel like it!</p>
<p>Make sense?</p>
<p>Okay- so let’s get into the video side of the report- creating, uploading, and marketing your videos.</p>
<h1>Creating Your Video</h1>
<p>There are 3 basic ways to put together a good video. Which one you choose is up to you, and you may find that one method works better for your niche than the others.</p>
<p>The 3 main methods are</p>
<p>1)    Screen capture videos (with someone narrating)</p>
<p>2)    Slideshow videos (with music- no narration)</p>
<p>3)    Webcam videos</p>
<p>Let’s start with screen capture videos.</p>
<h2>Screen Capture Videos</h2>
<p>This type of video is probably the most common among internet marketers. You basically just record what is being shown on your computer monitors and narrate what you are looking at.</p>
<p>For example, most marketers will create a PowerPoint presentation and go through it on camera. Each slide will have some text and photos, and the narrator explains in depth what is being discussed.</p>

<p>One great way to make these videos is to basically just copy-paste an article into a slideshow presentation. Try to keep it to less than 50 words per slide.  Then you basically read the slide to the viewer.</p>
<p>If you really know the content, you can also just make short bullet statements in the slides. You then explain each bullet statement in detail so the viewer understands what the slide is talking about.</p>
<p>To record these videos, you’ll need 2 things: a microphone and a screen recording program.</p>
<p>For the program, I HIGHLY recommend Camtasia. It’s by far the best product I’ve used- which is why it’s a bit expensive.</p>
<p>If you don’t have the funds to invest right now, consider CamStudio. It’s absolutely free, but I don’t think the quality is as good as Camtasia.</p>
<p>For your microphone, you basically just need any mic that can plug into your computer. One marketer I know uses a Turtle Beach headset used for gaming. Personally I have a $30 headset and microphone combo that works just fine.</p>
<p>If you don’t mind narrating the video, this is the method I personally recommend.</p>
<p>Now let’s look at a slideshow video.</p>
<h2>Slideshow Videos</h2>
<p>With this method, you aren’t going to be narrating anything. This is basically just a few related images or PowerPoint slides related to your niche.</p>
<p>There’s a great sample for what this can look like on <a href="http://animoto.com/">Animoto.com</a></p>
<p>There are a few ways to do these, but I’ve always used Animoto.com. They have a free service, so that’s a good way to start.</p>
<p>Here’s how this process works:</p>
<p>1)    Create the PowerPoint slides or download photos you’re using</p>
<p>2)    Turn the PowerPoint slides into images</p>
<p>3)    Upload them to Animoto.com</p>
<p>4)    Move them around into the order you want</p>
<p>5)    Add music from Animoto’s selection</p>
<p>That’s it! Realize that it will take a few minutes for Animoto to create the video, but your part doesn’t take much time at all.</p>
<p>Another good website to use is Video Hive. Here you can purchase video templates, and all you have to do is edit the template to say what you want. Personally I think that this is a better way to go than Animoto, but it does require an investment for each video template.</p>
<p>Either way- when you make slideshow videos, make sure your last slide has your domain name on there. Have that last slide play for a few seconds before the video cuts off, to make sure that they see and remember it.</p>
<p>Also- try not to just throw up a bunch of poor, unrelated images. Animoto lets you throw in “Text” slides, where you can describe the last photograph, introduce the next photo, crack a joke, share a tip, etc.</p>
<p>Change it up- don’t let your viewer get bored!</p>
<p>Now let’s look at the last type of video- webcam vids.</p>
<h2>Webcam Videos</h2>
<p>The idea here is pretty simple. You turn on your webcam, talk to it for a few minutes about your topic, then turn it off.</p>
<p>Here’s one example made by a girl that does a lot of webcam videos: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJTNCSdTFRc">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJTNCSdTFRc</a></p>
<p>This is a good way to go for some reasons, but generally I think the other 2 methods are better. The main reason you want to use a webcam is to help people get to know who you are. If you are trying to brand yourself as an expert, webcams are the perfect way to do that…</p>
<p><strong>As long as you do it right.</strong></p>
<p>Most people, however, have no idea what they’re doing. Getting good at talking to a webcam takes practice. You have to know exactly what you’re saying, keep looking straight at the camera, have good lighting, etc.</p>
<p>If you’re going to do this, consider making a few practice videos first. Record, watch, see what you did wrong, fix it, and repeat.</p>
<p>Keep recording new videos until you get it right! It won’t be perfect, but you want something that’s pretty good.</p>
<p>This is actually good advice for every kind of video, but it’s especially important for this “talking head” method.</p>
<h2>Uploading Your Video</h2>
<p>Yup- making your video is only step one! Now you have to start uploading your video and creating your channels.</p>
<p>The best place to start is simple- YouTube.com. As long as your video isn’t scammy or spammy looking or linking directly to an affiliate link, YouTube is likely to approve it.</p>
<p>**Be aware that make-money-online type of videos aren’t always liked by YouTube**</p>
<p>Here’s the basic steps that you’re going to take</p>
<p>1)    Sign up for YouTube.com</p>
<p>2)    Create a YouTube channel</p>
<p>3)    Upload your videos</p>
<ol>
<li>Use niche-related keywords as the title of your video</li>
<li>Enter keywords related to the video as tags</li>
<li>Write a description that explains what the video is about</li>
</ol>
<p>That’s it!</p>
<p>Now remember that you’re using this to drive traffic to your domain, right? To do that, you want to have your URL in the video itself AND in the description. Note that if you put the link at the beginning of your description, YouTube automatically turns it into a hyperlink.</p>
<p>All done with YouTube? Great!</p>
<p>Now it’s time to upload your video to other websites. Even though YouTube is king, there are a number of other sites that also get TONS of traffic every day. By uploading your video to all of them, you’re increasing your exposure. This means more eyeballs on your videos, giving you more traffic to your website, and hopefully more sales!</p>
<p>Here are a few of the best sites to upload your video to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Vimeo</li>
<li>Viddler</li>
<li>Daily Motion</li>
<li>Blip.tv</li>
<li>Yahoo Video</li>
</ul>
<p>There are tons more, but this just helps you get started.</p>
<p>Note that uploading your videos manually will get old REALLY fast. Instead, I highly recommend that you do one of 2 things:</p>
<p>1)    Hire someone on Fiverr to do it for you, or</p>
<p>2)    Use Traffic Geyser or SENuke (automated software) and upload to lots of sites at once</p>
<p>I know that both of these methods cost money, but the alternative is spending a TON of your own time doing it!</p>
<p>Personally, I think Traffic Geyser is the very best option, but outsourcing via Fiverr is a cheaper alternative until you start making more money.</p>
<h1>Marketing Your Video</h1>
<p>So far you’ve got your video created and uploaded to YouTube. You also created your own channel that visitors can subscribe to- not too shabby!</p>
<p>The next step is to start marketing your video. Even though some people will find your video through YouTube’s search function, you want to get it in front of eyeballs 10 times faster.</p>
<p>The faster you get people viewing your video, the higher it will show up in YouTube’s search engine.</p>
<p>So how do you do that? Basically some of the same ways you would market any website.</p>
<p>You have 2 main options- free or paid advertising. I recommend free at first, because you aren’t sure if people will click from your video to your domain name yet. If people are coming to your domain, maybe then you can think about paid advertising.</p>
<p>For free methods, here are a few basic ones to consider.</p>
<h2>Forums</h2>
<p>Niche forums have been a great way to drive traffic for years. Even though many of them don’t allow signature links, there are still plenty out there that do.</p>
<p>The first step here is to find a forum within your niche. A good way to do that is to simply type in Google “(your niche) + forums”, or you can check out Big-Boards.com and search there.</p>
<p>The key with forums is to really be a part of the community. Help people out, make some jokes, and have a good time. Meet new friends and build some trust, so that people start to know you.</p>
<p>As that starts picking up, put a link in your signature to your video. Have a good call to action, saying something like “My favorite 5 tips on how to [solve your niche’s problem]”.</p>
<p>So if you’re in the weight loss niche and your video was on 5 fat burning foods, your signature might say “Check out my top 5 fat burning foods”.</p>
<p>The key is to make sure people <em>want</em> to click your sig. If they don’t click, you don’t get traffic!</p>
<h2>Document Sharing Sites</h2>
<p>These are VERY powerful sites where you turn an article into a PDF and upload it to this site. Each PDF uploaded here can drive a ton of traffic to your video.</p>
<p>How do you get those articles? You can either write them yourself or pay someone else to write them for you. If you want to hire someone to hire them for you, here are a few places to look for good writers:</p>
<ul>
<li>Warriors for Hire section of the Warrior Forum</li>
<li>Elance.com</li>
<li>Guru.com</li>
<li>Craigslist.com</li>
<li>Odesk.com</li>
</ul>
<p>The key is to provide quality, short articles with a call to action at the end.</p>
<p>Also, make sure that when you turn your article into a PDF, you create a link to your video within the PDF. Unlike the article directories, you don’t get a resource box to put your video’s link.</p>
<p>Here’s a list of a few of the biggest ones:</p>
<ul>
<li>Scribd.com</li>
<li>Docstoc.com</li>
<li>SlideShare.net</li>
<li>CrocoDoc.com</li>
<li>Issuu.com</li>
<li>Docshare.com</li>
<li>MyPlick.com</li>
</ul>
<p>Believe it or not, even 6 and 7 figure marketers still use these sites!</p>
<h2>Web 2.0 Sites</h2>
<p>There is one more type of site where you can submit your articles to drive traffic- Web 2.0 sites. This includes sites like HubPages and Squidoo.</p>
<p>Technically, sites like YouTube and Blogger are often called Web 2.0 sites. But I’m talking about a different kind- Web 2.0 sites that let you post articles.</p>
<p>Even though these sites have cracked down on marketers over the years, you can still do very well with them. The key is to provide quality content and not do anything against their Terms of Service.</p>
<p>Here’s how it works with these sites:</p>
<p>1)    Sign up</p>
<p>2)    Create your profile (making you an expert in the niche)</p>
<p>3)    Create new hubs (HubPages), lenses (Squidoo), or others</p>
<ol>
<li>Use niche keywords as the title</li>
<li>Use your article as the content</li>
<li>Add modules to make it more interesting</li>
<li>Embed your video so they don’t have to directly go to YouTube</li>
<li>Include links to your own website</li>
</ol>
<p>Again, the key here is to provide quality, helpful content. A lot of people have spammed these sites, which then gets their accounts banned.</p>
<p>In addition to HubPages and Squidoo, a few other sites to use are</p>
<ul>
<li>WordPress.com</li>
<li>Tumblr.com</li>
<li>TypePad.com</li>
<li>Weebly.com</li>
</ul>
<p>The more you sign up for an use, the more traffic you’re going to get to your video and website.</p>
<h2>Social Media</h2>
<p>Websites like Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Pinterest, and Stumbleupon are GREAT for marketers.</p>
<p>Not only can they help you get direct traffic to your website, but also to your video.</p>
<p><strong>In fact- if you want your video to get a ton of views, social media is going to be your bet. </strong></p>
<p>The trick here is to get your video in front of people on Facebook who’d be interested. For example if your video is in the World of Warcraft niche, become friends with WoW players and share the video with them.</p>
<p>Then get onto Stumbleupon and “Stumble” a few other WoW sites. As people notice that you love WoW, they’ll start to follow whatever you stumble. Then when you stumble your own video, they’ll check it out for themselves.</p>
<p>Remember with social media that NOBODY is going on Facebook or Reddit to be marketed to! They’re trying to have a good time, maybe watch some funny videos and hang out with friends.</p>
<p>Don’t be salesy, just act cool and share with them your sweet video.</p>
<h2>Blog Comments</h2>
<p>Even though blog comments are often abused, they still work REALLY well. If you are contributing to the conversation and leaving a good comment, people will click through to your video.</p>
<p>So if your video is on weight loss, comment on weight loss and fitness blogs. Again, leave good and thoughtful comments on each post.</p>
<p>If your video is on World of Warcraft, hang out on gamers’ blogs. Technology blogs can work okay here too, as a lot of people who love technology also play video/computer games.</p>
<p>What is a thoughtful blog comment? First off, it should be on-topic. Talk about specifics found within the post that you’re commenting on. Don’t just put “Great post”, or even something like “That is very thought-provoking. Thank you for that great post.” Even though that second one sounds good, it’s not contributing ANYTHING to the discussion.</p>
<p>Now let’s talk about another great way to market your video- your YouTube channel.</p>
<h2>Creating and Marketing Your YouTube Channel</h2>
<p>If you’ve hung out on video sharing sites like YouTube, you’ve probably seen people comment on videos about their own channels.</p>
<p>For example, they will comment on someone else’s video and say “This is great! I actually just posted a very similar video on my channel- go check it out.”</p>
<p>Even though this seems silly, IT WORKS.</p>
<p>Because you are participating in a discussion with people already watching that kind of video, you can get a TON of traffic to your channel this way.</p>
<p>And since you have a channel (and not sure a bunch of unrelated videos unattached to each other), they may end up watching all of your videos in a very short period of time.</p>
<p>The more videos you have, the longer you’ll keep people on your channel. The longer they stay, the more they’ll like and trust you. The more they like and trust you, the greater the chances that they’ll come to your website!</p>
<p>Just like email marketing, the key to video marketing is to build relationships. Having a quality channel with quality videos is the best way to do that.</p>
<p>Also, make sure that you interact with your visitors. When they leave comments, reply to them! You don’t have to reply to every single one, but be a part of the discussion.</p>
<p>Remember there that you’re trying to build a brand. Don’t just put together a few low quality videos. Instead, put together good, helpful stuff and really try to help the people in your niche. Only then will you start to see the money flow into your bank account like clockwork.</p>
<h1>Conclusion</h1>
<p>Video marketing is extremely, extremely powerful. Even though it has been around for a few years now, most marketers are not utilizing it nearly as much as they should be!</p>
<p>Driving traffic with video marketing isn’t complicated, either. When it boils down to it, here’s all you have to do:</p>
<p>1)    Find a niche</p>
<p>2)    Do your research</p>
<p>3)    Find an offer</p>
<p>4)    Set up your site</p>
<p>5)    Create your videos</p>
<p>6)    Upload your videos</p>
<p>7)    Market your videos</p>
<p>That’s it! And chances are, the first 3-4 steps are steps that you have already done, right?</p>
<p>The key from here is to actually follow through with the steps. Maybe you can do one step for day. That way within one week you could be making money.</p>
<p>Good luck, take action, and make some money!</p>

Welcome to this month’s High Performance Academy Monthly, where every single month, we revisit the High Performance Academy model and we go in depth in just teaching you 4 strategies, or tools or tips that you can use to become more of a high performer this month in whatever career in you’re in and whatever environment you’re in.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Look, we’re all trying to become high performers at what we do, where we can maintain a significant high level of performance over a period of time. We don’t just want peak performance, we want sustained performance. And the way to do that is to really master 4 key areas of our life, as we always talk about in this series and at the High Performance Academy, which is mastering your psychology, your physiology, your productivity, and your persuasive ability- the ability to persuade others, your persuasion skills, so that you can have the influence you have and need in life.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">So, this whole model that we talk about in High Performance Academy, and here in High Performance Academy Monthly, is built, as always, as a reminder, on your ability to be present, right? It’s always something I’ll remind you every single month. Are you being present right now? And, it’s the question I’ll remind you every single month in this series, which is- are you, when you’re going throughout your day, are you asking the essential question, “<em>What level am I right now in terms of my physical vibrancy and presence in this moment?</em>”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> I ask that question to myself, as many of you know, hundreds of times a day I’m sure consciously and unconsciously, because I’ve asked it now for 15 years. What level am I right now in terms of my physical vibrancy and presence in this moment? What level am I right now in terms of my physical vibrancy and presence?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">And by asking that question, I’m able to marshal up the emotional and physical energy I need to be a high performer at whatever I’m doing- whether it’s creating this video for you, or sitting down and typing an email, or launching a new campaign in marketing, or about to get on stage in front of thousands of people.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">My job is to be fully present in the moment, and people feel when you’re fully present in the moment. When you fade away, they feel it. If I’m talking to you, and I’m fully engaged like this and we’re here having this dialogue, there’s almost an energy that I can push and pull back when I’m present, but there’s a second if I’m talking to you where I go away, you totally feel it.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">If I’m right here and engaged with you and then I go (pause)… you feel it, right? Obviously. And I don’t have to move with you, there’s not big dramatic movements- when someone goes away, you feel them go away. So, as a reminder in this monthly series that presence is the base of everything in high performance.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">You have to be able to be in the moment, be present, and be engaged. <p style="text-align: justify;">So, this month, our theme is control. So many people feel out of control with their life. I thought I’d start here with this conversation about putting you back in control of the driver’s seat of your life. But not control in the OCD manner of being obsessive about anything, rather a fluid level of control in which you have the competence and confidence you need to really live your life with reigns in hand; with the ability to direct the function and the fate of your life; being able to have the control to know that you can master your own mind, body, ability to get stuff done, and your own relationships with other people to influence them, to inspire them hopefully to do a grander good in the world.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">So, how do you do all that? Well, in talking about control this month, we have just 4 simple tools and strategies to think through, as we do every single month. We’re always going to live in each of these boxes with High Performance Monthly, and we’ll always have a theme. This month, again, is on control. So, what do we need to control for you to have a psychology of a high performer?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">What are the elements of your psychology that you can control so that you can have a greater sense of certainty and security in your life, but also what we always talk about in The Charge, which is your ability to be fully engaged, energetic and enthusiastic.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">So, this month what we want to control in your psychology is what we call ‘mind fuel’ and this should be a very basic understanding I hope, for you, of how you’re thinking through your psychology and really cultivating the psychology of a high performer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">What is mind fuel? I think of mind fuel as a few things. First, mind fuel is positive information coming in. This is really basic, I’m going to go over it quickly, but you should already know and I hope you’re already on an information diet. An information diet is where you’re limiting the amount of negative information coming into your life, the amount of, like, scandalous news information, “Alert, alert, alert!” and all that crap you see on the evening news every night.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Limiting the amount of negativity coming into your life overall so that your psychology can maintain the right space and the clean, positive space in which all high performance comes from</strong>. If you’re in a negative, upset space it’s going to be very hard for you to perform at high levels over a sustained period of time. Our goal is to limit negative information coming into your life- not in terms of feedback, but news media, dumb magazines about celebrities and what their dog looks like or is dressed like for that new awards show- just stuff that has no real meaning, and no real positive value and engagement to your life.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> I think that’s basic and you understand the importance of that already. You also understand the importance of getting around positive people and creating a social peer set that is empowering and inspiring to you; that you’re around people who raise your level already.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">High performers are really good about that. They’re always seeking out and developing relationships with people that lift them up, not push them down- Booker T Washington’s great quote, “There’s two ways to exert strength- one is pushing down, the other is pulling up.” So, think about those in terms of your positivity, but let’s get a little more advanced here with High Performance Monthly.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Other things that you have to control in terms of mind fuel, are things that we’re learning about from neuroscientists. I’m a deep student in the study of neuroscience. I’m always keeping up with the latest trends, tools and knowledge that we’re learning from that field, and one of the things we continue to find out is what really engages the mind; what really lights up in our head and in our psychology; what releases those great dopamine hormones that make us feel connected.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The molecules of dopamine that drops into our mind, that makes us feel alive, engaged, enthusiastic and happy, that comes from continually introducing newness and novelty into our mind. <strong>One of the greatest mind fuels we can put into our psychology and our life, is newness, novelty, new things</strong>. Are you doing new experiences that are engaging your mind? Are you creating new experiences with your spouse, and with the people you work with, to generate that level of engagement with life?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">What are you doing new right now in your life, on a continual basis? Interesting question, right? Maybe for you it’s as simple as going to a new restaurant every single time you have a date night with your sweetheart, trying to learn a new language, trying to develop a new skill, trying to develop something new.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">For me, every 30 days, I take on a new personal development challenge. That, for me, engages me in a new effort every single month, and that newness is sparking my brain and my psychology to continually meet the world from a learning perspective and from a mastery perspective. Y</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">ou want to master your mind? Develop learning and mastery capabilities. The way to do that is taking new things into your life. Obviously, with that, comes challenge. We’ve learned so much from (?) who wrote this great book called Flow. The happiest moments of our life are when we’re challenged just beyond our current abilities or skills in an endeavor we find exciting or engaging.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It’s in being in that moment, or that ‘optimal experience’, as he calls it, that really makes our mind come to life, and makes our psychology feel much more buoyant. So, you want to take on new things, but you want to take on challenges too. And most people shrink from challenge- they don’t want to be pushed.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">You’re challenged enough in your life right now. You’re probably challenged to keep up with me, as fast as I’m talking, but I’ll tell you what’s going to make the difference in your life- challenge. I can take a person who’s down and out, and claiming to be depressed, and just say, “You know what we need to do with you? We need to insert the right levels of newness and challenge into your life, and your psychology will switch.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Most people who are having a midlife crisis, are really just in need of a grand new adventure, or challenge, to respark the best within them. What challenges are you facing in your life- the positive kind that you’re setting up? Not the challenges that life throws at you, but the challenges that you emanate from your self.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It’s our great saying from High Performance Academy- there’s two things that change your life, either something new comes into your life, or something new comes out of you. You want to change your psychology and hit the highest levels of performance? Then introduce new, challenging things into your life. Should make sense.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">And the last piece about mind fuel is to understand that what’s really going to engage your psychology and your sense of enthusiasm for life, is you introducing new questions into your life that focus on optimism. <strong>Optimism is one of the most studied topics in all of psychology and what we know about optimism is that optimists actually take on more challenge in their lives than pessimists</strong>. Why? Because pessimists say, “Ugh! It’s so terrible, I can’t change it, it will always be that way, it’s out of my control and this is just going to last forever! This is horrible.” They don’t do anything, they just bitch and moan.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">But people who are actually in charge in life, the high performers, those are the ones who look at things optimistically and say, “Yea, that’s a problem, but it can be handled. I can handle it, and we can change this thing.” So, we want to introduce a whole new level of optimism in your life.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Here’s just one simple tool for you to be able to do that. Every single morning, while you’re in the shower, here’s all I want you to do, just ask one question- and obviously through High Performance Monthly here, we’ll be giving you a lot of questions to ask yourself. Believe me, this is just one question.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">You might get up to several questions in the show that you’re going to ask yourself through this series, but this first question I really want you to focus on. What in my life can, and should, I be enthusiastic about? What am I looking forward to in this day? Or what could I? What can I create in this day- just dream up right now, in the shower- that would make this day fun and engaging?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">You just sit there and think of things to be optimistic about, or you do things to be engaged with that you just come with in the day. I might be in the shower thinking about this, like, “I’m just going to- it’s going to be random, but- when I go downtown this day, I’m just going to stop by a flower shop, pick up some flowers and take it over to my lady where she’s working, and I’m just going to deliver some great flowers to her with a big smile, and just light her up.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The thing I’m looking forward to this day, that I’m optimistic about, is lighting up my lady.” I might think about, “Today when I go in with my team, I’m going to purposely make them laugh harder than they’ve ever laughed. I don’t know how, but when I get there, I’m going to focus on making this meeting fun today. That’s what I’m enthusiastic about.” So, you’re creating enthusiasm and optimism in your life.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Not by chance, because something new came into your life, because a new question is coming out of you in life. You go, “What can I be optimistic about? What can I create in my life to be optimistic about?” That level of optimism, that you can create from that, will heighten and really significantly move the needle in terms of your happiness, your engagement, and obviously your enthusiasm about life.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This High Performance Monthly series is all about those things. What moves the needle the most for you every single month, related to this theme? In controlling your psychology, control that mind fuel- what positive is coming into you mind, the positive people that you’re around.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Make sure that you absolutely control that optimism that you can have. That ability to look forward to something that’s so important. But, be brave enough to introduce some new things into your life, and take on some new challenges as well. All of those things, just 4 simple things to control, but controlling them- being alert and aware to them; present with those ideas- will make you much more of high performer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Next, in your physiology, what can you control to feel like to feel like more engaged in life?</strong> Well, I want you to control your motion and breath breaks. What do I mean? Our bodies get tired, and many of you, and many of us as a cultural society these days, especially in the western hemispheres, we’re sitting down behind a computer all friggin day long. That takes its toll on your physical body. That should make sense, the more physically drained you are, the more mentally drained you are.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We want these things to be so lit up for you- your mind and your body- so lit up, so engaged and energetic, and energized, that your ability to get stuff done and influence people is like that (snap), because when you’re at this level of presence, when you are at that plate where you generate the energy.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It’s one of my most famous quotes that you see on the blogs all the time with my name attached to, which is that, “<em>The power plant doesn’t HAVE energy, it GENERATES energy</em>.” Makes sense, right?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Physically, and psychologically, I should be wiped out right now. We’ve been in the studio all day shooting videos, we’ve been doing this, there’s plenty of reasons for me to be exhausted after an accident I had a couple of months ago that I’m still recovering from, but I don’t let that win. I generate the energy by my breath and my motion. You can do the same thing here.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">What I want you to do is, several times throughout the day, I aim for at least once an hour, every single hour, no matter what I’m doing, I break from it and then I just move around. I go for a quick walk, or I literally just wander around- I’m moving around, I’m doing some Chi Gong, in my office, or I’m just patting down parts of my body, opening up my meridians of energy, I’m going just to get a glass of water, I’m stretching, every single hour.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>I literally have, on my computer at my house, something that goes off for me every 45 minutes</strong>. And that 45 minutes, I get up away from the computer if I’m home, and I go get a big glass of water, I down the glass of water, and I stretch.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">And if you’ve ever known me, or been with me personally in a small group, you’ll see me, I’m always like this- I’m always just rotating my hips. I’m talking and I’m rotating my hips as I’m with a group of people. And I’m someone’s talking to me, I’m shifting- not because I’m a shifty dude, because I’m always moving my energy around to keep it engaged, because when you’ve got to do this- when you’ve got to stand up and influence people, which I know as a high performer you have to do- you’ve got to move your body.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">I need you to gesture more with your hands. Not because we need you to be a crazy communicator like me, but because the motion of moving around is circulating energy. And, we need you to breath. You need to take deep breaths in. Like that. Several times throughout the day.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We teach a series of doing that at High Performance Academy, that gets people literally- they’re like fired up and engaged. You need to do that multiple times a day. Do it in a way that’s appropriate for your physical health, but I don’t want you just breathing deep easily and yoga, and ommmm. No, I want you to actually breath deep like that to begin, but then I want you to breath more forcefully to generate a different level of engagement with your body, and yes I know some people won’t like that idea, and I understand the eastern philosophy sometimes of breathing longer and deeper. I do know that you need to do that, but I also want to peak your level of energy.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">And, to peak your level of energy so it sustains now into high performance. We also need to get breath going at the level of… That’s a different level of forcefulness, and if you do that multiple times a day, every single hour that you moving around, you’re going to take a nice deep breath, and you’re going to take a breathing breath at that level of forcefulness, you will find a whole new level of energy in your body like you’ve never experienced before.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Pretty helpful so far, right? So, next, what are we going to do to control your productivity levels? What I want you to focus on is agenda reclamation- reclaiming your agenda. This is the number one thing that high performers have a challenge with, but when they overcome it, that’s what makes them the best performers in the world- world class is taking back control of their agenda. I’ll remind you of this throughout the series every single month because we all need that reminder. I don’t care how great of a performer you are in your life right now, you need to be hearing, “<em>Reclaim your agenda. You got distracted. You’re running a million miles an hour in everyone else&#8217;s agendas. You’ve gotten off your path.</em>”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> I needed to hear that. I run an 8 figure a year business now, I have 5 extremely successful, profitable brands out there. I get to choose most every single day what my agenda is. And yet, I’m also at the whim of that inbox, just like everybody else is sometimes. That I just get distracted, I get sucked into the inbox. One of my other famous quotes is, “<strong><em>The inbox is nothing but a convenient organizing system for other people’s agendas.”</em></strong> And so, you need to understand that every time you open that inbox, in this digital age where we’re driven by so much of our messaging back and forth through email, and social media, that it’s easy to get sucked into the wormhole of the online environment.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">What I need you to do is really reclaim your agenda, and a simple tool to do that is below this video, you can download the High Performance Academy one page productivity planner. It’s just our one page productivity planner. It’s just a simple page that I’d like you to start your mornings with.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">I don’t want you to go do a bunch of other things. Just take that tool, download it, print a bunch of them- every morning, before you go to your computer- do not go to your computer, don’t look at your phone, don’t get yourself sucked into other people’s agendas.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">When you wake up, drink a nice big glass of water, and then another nice big glass of water. You’ve been sleeping for 6, 7, 8, 9 hours, so you are dehydrated. You need to drink some water.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Then, after you do that, as your beginning your day, and maybe you go work out, but when it’s time to start the day in terms of your work, sit down with the high performance academy planner. Sit down with that, work through that first, just as it directs you, where you really focus on thinking at a strategic level, <em>“What are the big projects I’m working on? Who are the people I need to reach out to, and I’m waiting for a decision on them? And, what are the priorities and the things I need to do, this day, no matter what?”</em></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Then, the way you start your day is you start with the people category. You go into your inbox, if you’re going to go in your inbox, and you reach out to the people that you need to reach out to. You look for the emails from the people you’re waiting for the decision on. If you don’t hear from them, you email them, say, “ I’m waiting to hear from you.” Then you close that inbox. Get outta there! And do all those priorities.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Once you’ve finished all those priorities, then go back in your inbox and see what other people’s agendas are, reply to those to the need in which you must do. Some people, if they’re customer service people, they need to be in there all day, they need to be in there a lot.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">But, if you’re the owner of your business, you shouldn’t be spending very much time in your inbox every single day. <strong>You should be focusing on creating real value for your customers, your overall strategy, and the operational excellence of your business</strong>, and not be sucked into that inbox.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Remember, the tool is just a tool for communicating. It’s a tool that you control, and you must control it. And then, another idea about controlling your agenda, is just to look at your life on a continual basis, and I encourage you to do that this month and just look at the different areas of your life and say, “Is what I’m doing there really what I want to be doing? Am I really showing up in that part of my life with my own agenda?” I mean every part of your life, from what you’re wearing right now- if you think about what you’re wearing right now, is that on your agenda?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">I know that sounds silly to say, but what I mean by that is when I think about your life’s agenda, I think about you showing up with your own consciously set goals and preferences and direction, in every area of your life. So yea, even as simple as what you’re wearing is really a reflection of who you fully are, who you want to be, what you want to demonstrate in life. That should be important to you.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Well, the same thing, when you’re showing up with your spouse, are you really showing up in the agenda of the best human being of who you are can be? Are you really showing up and thinking about your life and your family and directing that life and your family where you want it to go? Or, are you just responding to every single crazy cry of your child?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There’s some level in which you’ve got to take back the agenda of your life, and the control and the reigns of your life and direct this thing to where you want it to go, because everybody in the world is going to try to push you off into different directions, and I just wanted to be a nice monthly reminder to you saying, “Hey man. Hey lady. You have the opportunity to take back the control,” and to not try to be obsessively control, but make sure that your agenda in life, is being fulfilled so that when you get to the end of this big long meeting of ours called life, you look back to all of your interactions and all of your goals, and all of the things you tried to achieve and all the things you tried to be and say, “I was being fully me.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">I was running my own race. I was willing to take the road less traveled to set up my own path, and I lived my life, not someone else’s life.” That is important. Never forget, at the end of your life, you will ask, “Did I live? Did I live fully and vibrantly? Did I live my life?” You will ask, “Did I love? Did I love openly and honestly and completely?” And, you will ask, “Did I matter? Did I make a difference?”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">And the reality is, if you’re on other people’s agendas, you will never be able to live, love and matter at the full level at which you could if you just made a conscious choice today to take back your agenda, especially from the inbox monster, and control your life and your daily actions every single day. One last thing, persuasion.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This is really important. This is very simple, basic, and everybody forgets it. <strong>This importance of acknowledging, and appreciating the other person in any influence relationship.</strong> Sounds so incredibly basic to say you should acknowledge and appreciate people. But, do you know the number one reason people leave a job? They don’t feel appreciated. They don’t feel acknowledged for their hard work.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">That’s world wide, by the way. The number one reason people are unsatisfied and leave their work- they don’t feel acknowledged, they don’t appreciated. Want to know something else? The number one reason people leave relationships, has nothing to do with how sexy you are, how good in bed you are, how rich you are, how much stuff you have, it has to do with do you adore, honor, and appreciate fully the person who sits in front of you and lays next to you every single night.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">So, understanding that, when I think of persuasion, I don’t think of persuasion as the old style of, “I’m trying to persuade someone to do x for me.” I think of persuasion as an influence relationship. A relationship where I’m influencing the other, they’re influencing me. It’s a two-way street and together, we’re creating something remarkable together.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">That’s the way I think of persuasion in general. So, what I want you to think about is in all relationships of your life- and I really mean that, in all of you relationships- are you really acknowledging and appreciating the other person when you’re speaking with them, when you’re talking with them, when you’re blessed to be in their company.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The way I think about other people is like, I’m so happy and honored to be around them, and I’m so thankful for what they give to my life, just being in my life, not happy by what I get from them, happy by what I receive from them just by them being there. And I focus so much on honoring people and acknowledging them, and appreciating them, from what I say to my staff and team members, to how much I pay them, to what I say to my wife, and how much I pay her- I’m teasing! But I really want you to think about, are you really honoring and appreciating your loved ones? When is the last time you sent out some thank you cards? When is the last time you picked up the phone and just said, “I just wanted to thank you for what you’ve been doing for me recently.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">I don’t really have a reason to call, I just- I’ve been thinking about all the people I’m grateful for in my life, and you’re one of them. I know it’s kind of weird. I honor and I respect everything that you give to our organization,” or, “I honor and appreciate our friendship. I just wanted to say thank you, because I love you, because I care for you, because I see you, because I hear you, because I want us to have a great relationship.” Whatever it is for you.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This month, pick up the phone when you’ve finished this video. The greatest tool I can give you to high performance and creating great relationships is a piece of paper and a pen, and write down all of the people you should call, email, or send a thank you card to. Just really honor them and appreciate them.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Then, if you’re fortunate to be with your spouse, your lover, your partner, someone you’re dating, when they show up today and you see them for the first time after watching this video, light up! Get fully present with them. Give them a big hug. Adore them and just smother them with love and appreciation like, “What the hell happened to you?” And you’re like, “Nope. No reason. I was just thinking of you today.”</p>

<p>I don&#8217;t know about you, but sometimes I find it&#8217;s really easy to take stuff for granted. And I&#8217;m talking about IMPORTANT stuff &#8211; like your parents, or your kids, or your friends&#8230; or the fact that you can turn a faucet and have water magically flow out of it.</p>
<p>I try to practice gratitude in my life every day&#8230; but still, there are too many times when I take all the amazing abundance in my life for granted.</p>
<p>One of the areas that I&#8217;m incredibly blessed with is the people I get to work with every day&#8230; my amazing team, my wonderful clients, my incredible partners.</p>
<p>And I just have to look at the list of &#8220;recent calls&#8221; on my phone to be truly humbled&#8230; it&#8217;s almost a library of the greats of the Internet marketing and information marketing world.</p>
<p>The funny thing is that when I&#8217;m talking with those folks, usually only 10% of the conversation is about business. The rest of the time we&#8217;re talking about our families, or our adventures, or our hobbies and interests.</p>
<p>But there&#8217;s one other thing that you might find pretty surprising&#8230;</p>
<p>You see, when my life started to turn around back in 1996&#8230; there were actually two things going on. One was that I had started my online business, and it began to grow ever so slowly.</p>
<p>The other big thing in my life was that I started working on myself &#8211; I started doing some personal development work. I began studying some Tony Robbins stuff (I bought his CDs after I watched his informercial about ten times!). Tony&#8217;s stuff led to some other really cool stuff, and soon I was hard at work on improving my &#8220;inner game&#8221;.</p>
<p>IMPORTANT: I absolutely know that if I didn&#8217;t get my inner game together (ie, get my head on straight), then my business wouldn&#8217;t ever have gone anywhere.</p>
<p>But here&#8217;s a secret &#8211; I thought I was weird. I thought I was the exception. I thought I was the only one that needed to work on my inner game. I thought everyone else just knew all that stuff intuitively.</p>
<p>But I was in for a surprise. Because as my business and reputation grew, and I started hanging out with other really successful people&#8230; well it turns out that nearly ALL of them had taken that same journey I had taken.</p>
<p>Almost all of them had read &#8220;Think and Grow Rich&#8221;&#8230; almost all of them had studied Tony Robbins&#8230; almost all of them had a goal setting process with written goals.</p>
<p>Of course, this isn&#8217;t something I write about a lot &#8211; because I figure you read my stuff to learn business lessons, not personal growth lessons.</p>

<p><strong>SERPS</strong>: This stands for “search engine results pages”. These are the pages you see after you type in a search phrase into Google or other search engines. They’re the results of your search. For anyone with a business online, your goal is to be as high up in the SERPS as possible for any search phrases associated with your business.</p>
<p><strong>Meta tags</strong>: Meta tags are words that appear in the html code for a page, but do not appear on the page itself. They tell search engines specific information about that page. The most common meta tags are for description (of the page), keywords, and author.</p>
<p><strong>Title tags</strong>: These are the words that appear in the tab or bar at the very top of your web browser. They are the “title” of the page that a user will see when they look at the top of their browser.</p>
<p><strong>Alt image tags</strong>: The alt image tag provides the “alternative text” for an image. Since search engines can’t read an image, you should always provide some text that describes the image as well. It will show up if the image can’t be displayed and will also show if someone mouses over it.</p>
<p><strong>Hyperlinks</strong>: A hyperlink is simply a link you can click on that connects one place to another either on the web or even within a document, such as a slide show. Hyperlinks can be attached to text or images.</p>
<p><strong>Anchor text</strong>: This is the clickable text in a hyperlink. Marketers typically use keywords that describe the linked page as their anchor text, which can help in ranking higher in the SERPS.</p>
<p><strong>Internal links</strong>: These are links from one page on a site or domain to another. The opposite is an “external link” which involves linking to a page on another website. Both types of links are important for SEO.</p>
<p><strong>Longtail keywords</strong>: A longtail keyword is a search phrase that consists of 2 or more words. Usually, the longer the keyword phrase the more specific the information is that the searcher is looking for. In general, it is easier to rank for a longtail keyword since it will have less competition.</p>
<p><strong>Keyword density: </strong>Keyword density is a measure of how many times a specific keyword appears on a page in relation to the number of words on the page. If the keyword density is a high percentage, it can be a warning sign to Google that the page is low quality or spam.</p>
<p><strong>Organic traffic: </strong>The free traffic you get naturally from search engines and other directory listings is referred to as organic traffic. The opposite is paid traffic, such as the people who arrive at your site by clicking on one of your ads on another site.</p>
<p><strong>Spider:</strong> Also referred to as a “crawler” or “robot”, spiders are software programs that the search engines use for locating and indexing all the pages and websites on the internet. Spiders follow links from one page to another and will revisit sites, indexing new pages as it goes.</p>
<p>There are many more SEO terms that you’ll hear as you learn more about getting traffic from search engines. Don’t be afraid to ask for definitions and explanations of a term you don’t understand. Even the most seasoned internet marketer comes across terms they are unfamiliar with. It’s all part of the learning process for getting more traffic.</p>
